As I was surfing the net, commenting on blogs, and looking at a number of CSS galleries for inspiration, the random thought occurred to me: Who instant messages anymore?
I’m pretty sure the number is still high up there, but I feel the fad of instant messaging is dying out as the wave of blogging, Twittering, and sites like Skype are all the rage now.
Maybe it’s just me (and please tell me if it is), but AIM and MSN just aren’t the same as they were before. I remember when I used to have about 5 different screen names for AIM. I had over 200+ contacts that I didn’t really know, nor needed to ever talk to, but had them nevertheless. My MSN account wasn’t too far behind either, but at least with this account I could actually set my setting to “offline” and still be able to talk with people.
Now-a-days, I rarely use AIM or MSN! When I do, it’s because a friend of mine asks me to or I’m just hella bored and wanna see if anyone who I used to talk to on a daily basis is on, which they rarely are.
Also if my current job uses it, well I have to jump on that band wagon!
So tell me, do you still instant message? If so, who are you talking to (ie: online friends, family…etc.) why do you like it, and which client are you using?
Two blogs ago I said I was planning to move away from Florida and start a new life in the Big Apple…well plans have changed since then (I know it wasn’t that long…) and well I feel I should take this one small step at a time. Also I have a few little naggers around me that keep telling me it’s a bad idea and how I should think things through and blah blah blah…so I’m half listening to them and also listening to what I think is best and in the end, it seems the best is to just stay here for a bit longer.
It saddens me deeply, but if it will help out in the long run…what’s another one or two years? Yikes!
Ah, well at least with this time frame I can save up more money, shoot a few films I have in mind and also stay with my friends for a bit longer. (They were starting to attack me!)
All in all, I’m OK with it and hey, they always say that good things come to people who wait, so here I am waiting!
Yup, it’s true…I bought a cute little Sony Handycam and am totally obsessed with it! Since Circuit City is going out of business, I decided to take advantage of some of the price knock offs and went ahead and bought a video camera. Nothing too special, but something to start off my film-making career/dream!
The real camera I want is much too expensive at the moment and I’m OK with that, I know I’ll get it in the future. For now, I’m extremely happy with what I got and take my camera everywhere with me, you never know when inspiration might hit and lately it’s been hitting a lot…haha. (wish I could say the same for my website)
I’ve been viewing the amazing video website Vimeo.com and checking out some amazing videos! I can’t wait to finally add some of my amateur work and get critiqued on it. Hey, criticism is a MUST when starting out, how else will you learn what to and NOT to do?
Anyways, I have big plans for this little camera and I already have given myself two projects to work on for the year, aside from trying to move out. I’m just really excited that things seem to really be looking up for me. =)
