boston celtics I love sports, not so much watching, but playing. But when a team from not only my home state and from the East side of the US make it to the Playoffs, well I just HAVE to root for them! The Boston Celtics are that team this year and better yet their beating my LEAST favorite team of all time, the LA Lakers!

I just couldn’t be happier. So far they are 3 – 1. For those of you who don’t know, that means they have won 3 games and lost one, all they need to do is win one more game and they are the champions! I also love watching this basketball game, because it brings my mother and I closer. When I used to play she was my support and rooting section, so she knows what its like to be a spectator and loves to watch the game.

Another reason why I get so hyped up for this game, basketball was invented in my hometown of Springfield, MA! I LOVE IT! I wish when the Celtics win, I could be up there, because I know the party scene will be blasting! Oh well…I’ll party down here in FL….hahah.

All I have to say is HAHA KOBE, YOU SUCK! =P GO GET EM CELTS!!!

Edit// In response to DR’s comment and for those who do not know or are out of the loop.

The Bostons Celtics and LA Lakers are both USA NBA teams (National Basketball Association). They are long time rivals since they represent the East and West sides of the US. They are both currently in the playoffs, which determines who the best team of the 2008 BBall season is. Kobe Bryant is the LA Lakers “Star player” and is known for his great athletic abilities *cough* lies *cough*.

If you’ve heard of the Yankee/Red Sox rivalry, well the Celtics/Lakers are basically in the same boat. Its just this year (or past couple) The Celtics are like the “underdogs” and they are fighting their way to win this time!

Like the Giants and Patriots in Football…haha.

So, I joined Capoeira this week. If you are wondering what the heck that is, it is Brazilian martial arts…if you will.

Capoeira dates back hundreds of years to the slave trade period in Brazil. African slaves were brought to Brazil to work in the tobacco and sugar farms. They were brought in from many different parts of Africa and there began a melding of cultures. While their conditions looked bleak, the slaves kept their hopes of freedom alive by practicing their native traditions. Then, disguised as a cultural dance, the slaves began to practice Capoeira. Acrobatics, sweeps, kicks, ginga… Capoeira was born. But Capoeira gave slaves more than hope.

In Pernambuco, a group of forty slaves used Capoeira to rebel against their master and burned down the plantation house. They then set themselves free and headed for the mountains. Eventually they reached what they felt was a safe place and named it Palmares, because of the abundance of palm trees. In this place, an African community was born. It lasted nearly a century and grew to a population of more than twenty thousand.”

So far, I’m really loving the class. Everyone is really nice and fun to be around.

The workout though is a whole other story, I didn’t know I was so out of shape (lying to myself) until I started the workout routine they have. OMG I thought I was going to DIE! Today was my second day…or well yesterday and I still hurt everywhere. Especially my legs, I think it has to do with me breaking my ankle once upon a time and fracturing the other a couple of times…sports does that to ya. But I know that if I keep on with this class, I’ll get back into shape in no time and also learn some cool moves along the way!

Good luck for me!

Although, I’m not a huge football fan, watching how the underdog team beat my beloved hometown team, was just horrible! Not only that, but they’re acting like God’s gift to football. What poor sportsmanship. Anyways, I was REALLY hoping the Patriots would’ve won, I mean how cool would it have been after being undefeated all season and then to win the Super bowl for the 4th time in a row? It would then have been God’s gift to football, but NO, those crappy-pig-headed Giants had to come and mess everything up. Good thing I didn’t bet any money on this game, although the house I went to watch it at were all Giants fans, so I was the only one hollering yippees for the Patriots…haters! haha.

So the commercials during the Super Bowl were fun, I especially loved the Budweiser one at the beginning with the horse and dog. Too cute! The others weren’t ALL that great, it seemed like they were slacking this year. Usually they are off the wall and funny, although the Budwisers (in my opinion) are always the best ones. They’re really creative.

So yea, those are the only rants I have for the Super Bowl. Maybe next time New England can smash the Giants faces into the ground at the next Super Bowl, then I can sleep well at night…hahaha.
