So a couple of days ago, my mother and I were at a red light. Her window was half way open and I had the music a tad bit too loud when from the corner of my eye I see this guy come up to the passenger side window. As I turn my head to see what he is doing, my mom out of reflex, as she said, closes the window a little bit, sort of scaring the guy from asking us a question. On closer inspection, I notice that he looks to be more of a boy, then a man, probably no older then 16 or 17. I quickly turn down the music and ask him what he wanted, politely of course, but he just gives us this really sad look and turns to walk away.

I swear I’ve never felt so bad before. The look that he gave my mother and me had us both wishing we could turn back time and re-do/think our actions. I don’t think he was a “hobo” or anything, he was dressed normally, a little dirty looking, but what teenage boy isn’t sometimes? In my head I thought that he might have wanted to know the time or something? That’s why I felt so bad afterward. I asked my mom why she had closed the window like that? She said she didn’t do it on purpose, it was just reflex, since she also saw him from the corner of her eye. He literally just popped out of nowhere next to the car and so I can understand since it surprised me too. Also a long time ago, when my mother was still in college she said she had her necklace snatched right off her neck when she was driving in her car and was stopped at a red light. Her window was wide open and some guy just walked right up to her and snatched it off and then took off running. My mother said she was too stunned to do anything. So, I could understand the “reflex” part.

Ugh, but did we feel so horrible afterwards. Its the look he gave us, even now I’m thinking about it and sighing sadly…

On a happier note, I suppose, I’ve updated my site with a few more plugins. I’m sure you have noticed the slight “slowness” of my site’s page load and I’m assuming its because of a widget I have installed. I’m not sure which one, but right now its between the gallery plugin or the Twitter one. Hmmm. Also I’ve closed down my hosting website and moved it back here to my main site. I only opened it long ago when ST was still alive and I had quite a few hostees, probably like 14 at that time and felt it would be much better for them. Now I only have a close knit of hostees and decided it would be much easier this way. So for whoever needs some free subdomain hosting, look no further, its only a click away in the “goodies” page. =D

So, at first I was a little weary on upgraded my poorly out-of-date WordPress version since one, I had said I was going to scrap it, and two, because I didn’t want anything bad happening in the end. I’ve been through many forums and post where someone always has a problem with upgrading. Yea, I was little scared, but I got over it, downloaded WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin and watched it do it’s work. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Now my big thoughts on WP 2.5…WOW! The dashboard is so much better then the last version’s. Very clean and simple, yet pleasing to the eye. I haven’t really gone through it all yet to see what new features I can find, but so far from what I’ve noticed on improved things, very well done! I just might stick with WP for a while longer. Hee XD

Now onto unrelated WP topics! I have a lot of ideas for future websites, that some just keep popping out of nowhere and others have been stuck in my brain for a few years now and I feel that I can finally make come true. One of them being my online shop. I already have the perfect name for it, at first I was going to use this domain (urbanroxy.com) but then decided that I should just keep as my personal blog domain, since it does reflect me a lot. Anywho, so I checked for the name I thought of and it’s very much available in the .com, .net, and .org. For now, I’m thinking of just buying the .com and .org, if by chance there is a special for all there (which sometimes there is) I will go for all three.

Another excitement of mine, if the polishing (since I’ve been working on it for forever now) of my own hosting website. Its not going to be anything big, but mostly geared towards hosting personal, fan, portfolio, websites and along that path. Nevertheless I have been putting sometime into it these past few weekends and hope to open it soon to the public!

Last but not least, I’m also currently thinking of purchasing my own server! While the current shared server that I am hosted on has been EXTREMELY good to me these past couple of years, I don’t want accidentally cause trouble to my great neighbors with all of my up and coming website ideas. Trust me I have more ideas then the ones mentioned above that have to do with a full blown out film/video portfolio and I know for a fact that can be a little crazy on a shared environment. I’ll keep ya posted on those updates. =D

This is a just-in-case post for people who might have a problem logging into their WordPress accounts.

If you have downloaded the plug-in Bad Behavior, you need to update it ASAP! They made a mistake while switching servers and now a lot of WP blogs are not able to log in due to a blacklist IP problem.

The link: http://www.bad-behavior.ioerror.us/2…behavior-2011/ will take you to the fixed version.

“All users should update to Bad Behavior 2.0.11 immediately to prevent being blocked from your own site.

Within the past two days users have found themselves blocked from their own sites while using recent versions of Bad Behavior. A third party blacklist which Bad Behavior queries recently began sending false positives for any IP address queried, causing everyone using Bad Behavior to be blocked. This issue is fixed in Bad Behavior 2.0.11.

Download Bad Behavior 2.0.11 now!

P.S. Yes, Bad Behavior is still in development. More news coming soon.

Update: Some people have asked for more details on what exactly happened. In brief, yesterday I moved all of my sites to a new dedicated server. In the process, I decommissioned an old blacklist I was running which I thought wasn’t being used, not realizing that Bad Behavior was still set to use it. Shortly afterward, I found myself locked out of my own blog, just as you all did. So therefore, this release.”
