Time sure flew by this year. Wasn’t it just Christmas like two months ago? Haha

I’m excited and at the same time not. While I know I won’t be getting the roughly $2,000 camera I want (this is the sad part), I do know that I will be spending the holidays with my family all together once again! (that’s the great part) It has been a good 6 years since we last spent any type of holiday or birthday together, and usually we always spent it together in one house or the other. So for this to happen again, but ALL of us together, is a very special gift to me and my mother.

Yes, that’s right folks, I’m currently sitting in one of my sister’s house’s rooms in Massachusetts. Freezing my butt of, but here nevertheless, safe and sound.

The trip up here was disasterrific (not a total made up word: ffx2). It was about 20-21 hours from Florida and I had to take my cat on the drive up. Yes, during the lovely trip up there, my lovely little kitty witty decided to poop AND pee inside his carriage. Now, before you think anything, I just want you to know that I DID take him out a few times and not ONCE did he go poop or pee. I know he isn’t a dog, but this was the best I could do. I had the brief idea of buying a little box and putting cat litter in it, but there was NO ROOM in the car to even be remotely comfortable, so I was left without many choices.

Anyway, so he pooped and peed and we nearly died from the smell. To make matters worse we were stuck in an EXTREMELY heavy traffic jam in Virgina, where it was already cold to the bone. So it was either freeze are butts off with the windows open or die in the car from the fumes. In the end, because of the traffic, we had to stop on the side of highway. There goes another disaster…

I ask my sister, who is now mad about the whole thing, to come help me, because I can’t take out the cat, clean him and clean the cage as well. So she comes over, in her high spirits (sarcasm) and nearly squishes my cat to death, because he fell out of her arms. Then she attempts to pick him up and he bites her (if it wasn’t for the situation, I’d be cheering him on), she then yells and almost drops him again and then picks him up by his tail. I’m just standing there in pure horror, that’s when I’m like “OMG, give me” and I kid you not, he came rushing into my arms like there was no tomorrow. Mind you as well, this all happened within seconds of taking him out, I wasn’t just standing there for like 5 minutes watching as my cat could have been road kill and thinking, “gee, what happens next”.

My cousin who was also with us, quickly jumped out of the car and helped clean the cage as I cleaned my cat. It wasn’t the best of cleans, since all we had were water bottles, so about 10-20 minutes later, we stopped at a gas station, where I practically begged the clerk, if I could wash my cat real quick in the bathroom. After about a minute or so, he gave in and told me to not make a mess. So, I bought some cleaning products for the cage (pet friendly) and used the hand soap in the bathroom to clean my cat. After that we went on our merrily way back onto the highway and towards our destination.

Ok so, that was pretty much the worst that happened during the trip, but you can’t deny, it did sound pretty epic right?

Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone. I’ll probably be back in the blogging swing of things in 2010!

So, a little over two months ago my boyfriend’s brother’s cat got pregnant and had four gorgeous kittens. Three of the kittens were girls and only one a boy. Each had their own color of fur and personality, and I’m proud to say I was there to see them grow from birth all the way till they were given away.

Getting back to the main topic, my boyfriend decided to keep one for himself. At first he wasn’t sure which kitten to choose and me being a happy cat owner (and a nosy girlfriend) told him to go for the boy, since from experience, the boys are always more affectionate and playful.

So, from there on out he (we) decided to choose the boy, which was an orange and white tabby. Slowly as he grew we noticed that he was extremely playful and loved to run about and make all kinds of trouble with his sisters. At first Mike thought that he had made a mistake in choosing the orange kitty (Known as Fury now) since the cat would never play with us and very hyperactive. One of the kitties, who was all white except for a few gray spots, was always around us and would sometimes curl up in our laps and just sit there, something Fury didn’t do.

Anyways, after a while it was decided where all the kittens were going as people came to see them and had already chosen ones they wanted, leaving Fury to us no matter what. Personally, I wasn’t complaining as I thought and still do think Fury is the cutest kitty and a little extra energy never hurt anyone. Mike of course didn’t mind after a while and currently, Fury is leaving in my house with my other two kitties.

At first we were a little hesitant on leaving fury alone with Miss Miss and Midnight, since those two fight all the time and Miss Miss really doesn’t like other people or cats (hence she hates Midnight) but after watching them for a few days it seems that Fury is friends with both Miss Miss and Midnight. Something I was totally surprised by, since when I first got Midnight, Miss Miss would ALWAYS hiss at him and NEVER played with him like she does with fury.

Its really cute and I’m glad to have this new kitty, even though he doesn’t belong to me REALLY. Hehe, I’ll be posting pictures of him soon!

I feel that I am a little too young to be going through this. Although when I was very much younger and didn’t have a job, my mom went through this and all I could was sit and watch, but now that I’m older, have a job, and can actually manage money, I can understand all the stress she has gone through my whole life.

Sad to say it, but yes, right now we are in a major slump. With everything rising in price, even our rent, and our jobs not doing much about it, its hard. Right now we are looking for a smaller apartment to possible move to, but everything we find is practically the same price we are paying for here in a house! Not only that, but I’m debating whether or not to just get a place of my own. My number one question; “Am I ready for it?”.

I feel like I could do it, but I also want to go back to school and am wondering if I would have the right amount of time to keep a stable job, go to school, and still be able to pay the rent and amenities that come with it? On top of that, I have two cats, and for those of you with pet family members know how expensive some of their things can cost. I’m not necessarily complaining, I love my babies and would do anything for them, I just have to be a little more realistic and think about them when deciding what I will be doing, or I’ll just be setting myself up for failure if I don’t.

Ugh and then there is the whole school thing. YUP, I’m still trying to figure out where to go. My choices at the moment:

The ever expensive Full Sail University (yes, they are an accredited university now)
The somewhat lacking University of Central Florida
The you-must-be-a-first-year-to-get-in-the-film-school of Florida State University
The not really in the mood to get just my AA at Valencia Community College

Sounds exciting, no? Yea, I don’t know…>_>
