Major Re-Design!
I’m currently in the process of giving this site a total makeover. I have three designs that I’m trying to finish up and choose for the final product, but that’s not going so well. I’ve also had a few up and down ideas on what exactly to do with this site; keep it personal…turn it into a portfolio…or just simply a blog? With the new designs, I hope to figure it out soon. Yes, I like to think backwards. The design helps me choose what I want to do with site…odd, I know.
My biggest mind blower here is whether or not I want to keep WordPress or hand-code everything. I mean, I know to an extent, I will be hand-coding everything, but WordPress makes things just so easy! Like I’ve said in a billion posts before this one, I miss coding everything on my own!
This probably such a small detail to most, but a big step for me and this site…argh I don’t know what do!
Any suggestions, comments, or questions…please and thank you!

Keep the WP! However, I also miss hard coding.

You could try using static pages with php includes. You’d get to still hand code but have the ease of the includes.

Hum… that is a hard one. It really depends on how much time you have to put into doing your own coding. I wish I could do my own but I don’t have enough confidence to do so.
Whatever you do I’m sure it will be awesome. XD

If you are confident that you can hand-code everything, why not do it? That way you will end up with a site totally unique and one which cannot be found elsewhere

Well, I’d go for keeping WP. I mean, it’s very useful, it has a lot of features that you might wanna keep, and that will be difficult and time consuming to implement on your own. For instance, footnotes or asides are a pain in the back, also when it comes to PHP there are a lot of security issues one has to think about and take care of. WP has all that sorted out.
It’s your decision though. I once coded my own CMS, but I was frustrated for the lack of functionality and how much time it took before I could have new features. Also the amount of spam were horrible.
My two cents. I hope it helps.
